Meebo and Mosoto are two great web-based services that you might consider over your usual locally-run IM clients. They're particularly useful when you're on a machine that's not yours - say a friend's computer, or at a public terminal - just be aware of the security implications. Use secure HTTP (https://) if possible and change your password after using the accounts on an un-trusted machine in the case the machine is running a keylogger. Also, do not discuss personal/business information.
Meebo supports AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber.
Mosoto supports AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ, and Gadu Gadu.
