Beta-test Windows Home Server!

There's a great opportunity to try out Microsoft's new Windows Home Server on a spare machine (physical or virtual) you have laying around. The product has all sorts of neat features, including streaming/sharing your music and media across your home (and the internet, if you like!) as well as intelligent backups of all your Windows-based computers. The software is smart enough to only keep one copy of an OS if you are running two or more machines with the same OS - and keep any differences beyond the OS backed up.

Architecture for Humanity

From their site: "Architecture for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that seeks architectural solutions to humanitarian crisis and brings design services to communities in need. We believe that where resources and expertise are scarce, innovative, sustainable and collaborative design can make a difference."

Which is all well and good, but where it gets really interesting is their Open Architecture Network which provides free access to designs that have already worked as well as competitions for building solutions, contributed pro bono. Here's how to get involved.
